Carrot Plans

If your employer has recently partnered with Carrot, you may be wondering how to make the most of your Carrot benefit. You can unlock a number of educational resources simply by setting up an account. If you're ready to take the next step, consider getting a Carrot Plan to put you on a truly personalized path. Your Carrot Plan will guide you every step of the way on your fertility or family-building journey.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s understandable. These journeys are incredibly complex, with myriad clinical, legal, financial, and cultural considerations. We take the time to understand what you need and where you are before creating your Carrot Plan, and then we bring together the resources that are most relevant to you in an easy-to-follow guide.

Much more than a checklist, think of your future Carrot Plan as a map to help you navigate your fertility or family-building path. Need further convincing? Here are more reasons to get your Carrot Plan today

1. Tap into our experienced Carrot Experts for support.

After you complete our questionnaire, one of our Carrot Experts will create a custom step-by-step plan to guide you through your journey. If you’re exploring options with a partner, you’ll also answer questions about them. These questions are short and easy, and your answers are confidential. The answers allow Carrot Experts to develop a personalized plan that best fits your needs, factoring in medical history, age, sex, gender identity, and location. The answers also help us understand where you are on your journey so we can support you fully.

2. Unlock exclusive resources to help navigate your journey.

Once you create your account, you will have access to some resources, like our digital benefits guide, educational articles and videos, and our message and resource centers. But getting a Carrot Plan allows you to access the full range of resources that come with your benefit. Depending on your path and profile, your plan could include virtual chats with medical experts, evidence-based educational resources, exclusive discounts at top clinics and agencies, information on how to save on medications through Carrot Rx, and more. And the best part? It typically takes less than a day to get your Carrot Plan.

3. Get an inclusive plan that meets your unique needs.

Carrot has plans and resources for everyone, no matter what journey you’re on. In fact, there are over 1 million potential combinations of steps that can inform Carrot Plans. Whether you’re a heterosexual couple interested in vitro fertilization (IVF), a same-sex couple pursuing adoption, or a cis-woman thinking about preserving your eggs, we will create a customized plan to meet your unique needs. A few common examples of how we meet members' specific needs are matching them with a BIPOC provider, finding an LGBTQ+-inclusive adoption agency, or helping members understand the legal implications of using donor-assisted reproduction.

4. Access flexible support — because fertility and family-building paths can change.

We get that plans change; that’s why Carrot Plans are flexible. If you take a different path after you get your initial Carrot Plan, you can easily request an update by logging into your account. And the burden of recognizing that you need a new plan doesn’t just fall on you. You also may receive a refreshed plan after a conversation with a Carrot Expert. They may pick up on something that you haven’t thought of or offer an option that you didn’t even know existed.

5. Ensure that you receive appropriate care and that you feel supported on your journey.

We’re proud of the expertise that we offer and the ways we make it accessible to you. By pairing education and care navigation, we help you achieve the best result possible for whatever path you’re on. For example, most people are familiar with IVF as a treatment for infertility, but it’s not the right option for everyone to start with, and there are other options to consider — in fact, just under 5% of people experiencing infertility use IVF. Instead of starting out by guiding someone to IVF, a Carrot Expert can recommend a less costly and invasive option when medically appropriate, such as an ovulation tracker, and provide resources on topics like nutrition and fertility. Many of our members use virtual chats with Carrot Experts to get answers to questions in between in-person appointments. We believe that’s why our member satisfaction score is 95% — because we take the time to listen and explore all options with you.

Best of all, your Carrot Plan is free to you. It’s a benefit that’s completely covered by your employer.
