We sat down with Ryan Pigeon, Lead IT Support Specialist, to learn more about his role and Carrot experience.

How long have you been at Carrot?

I’ve been at Carrot for nearly three years!

Why did you join Carrot?

The mission initially got me and Carrot’s drive to innovate and evolve the mission to bring fertility care and support for all. Under the hood, it’s apparent that the leadership within Carrot are very sound in the delivery of the mission. The people are truly the soul here. It's difficult to build a company culture within a remote environment, but everyone on the team finds a way to empathize with each other and build a strong unified energy. This wouldn’t be possible without the vision from our leaders and the approach of acquiring the most talented people.

What do you do in your role?

I work on the Information Technology team where I strive to drive new and existing initiatives within our internal infrastructure while supporting the team and their development. Furthermore, I will connect with other members of the business to pick up on deeper understandings to make sure that our team is well supported and given the tools to flourish in their roles.

How would you describe your team’s function?

We provide IT administration and support to the Carrot community. This can range from solving a quick technology challenge for a colleague via our Slack channel, ensuring our Carrot app is working for users, or focusing on data privacy for our team and users’ information.

What is your favorite perk about working at Carrot?

The people, it's really the heartbeat of the organization. While the benefits of flexibility associated with a predominantly remote workforce speaks for itself, the connections and people I have connected with will be everlasting and unforgettable.

How would you describe Carrot’s culture?

Warm and welcoming. Everyone treats each other with respect and empathy knowing how the talented individuals within Carrot are the value of the greater team. Everyone has a voice and everyone is available to listen, which harvests a healthy and proactive environment.

What do you appreciate the most about working at Carrot?

The people and the different backgrounds of the members of the team. I think that everyone has a story to tell and I love listening to everyone’s story. Individuality is the true pulse to any successful business and Carrot’s success is driven by the residue of its continuous embracing of individualism and inclusion.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best part about working with everyone at Carrot is knowing that we are all working to push towards the mission and goals of providing impeccable services for our members. It's something that everyone is truly passionate about and is an absolute pleasure to be a part of that initiative.
