We sat down with Marni Denenberg, Senior Clinical Solutions Manager, Donor Assisted Reproduction and Adoption (DARA) to learn more about her experience and favorite parts of working at Carrot.
When did you join Carrot? I joined Carrot in April 2022. I’m coming up on my two-year anniversary next week!
Why did you join Carrot? Joining Carrot has given me the opportunity to utilize all of my professional experience in the family-building field to help people become parents.
Describe your team and your role. What are you focused on? I work on the Clinical Solutions team here at Carrot, overseeing matters involving DARA-related journeys in the U.S. and Canada. This role involves the development and management of Carrot’s DARA partnerships, the review of benefit determination policies and escalations, and cross-collaboration with other teams on global policies, content creation, and product refinement.
You’ve worked in several DARA-related roles in the past. What initially got you interested in the space? I was adopted at birth and from a young age always envisioned myself working as a champion for at-risk children. My path has been winding, from working at an appellate court in Brooklyn to working in adoption, and then donor-assisted reproduction services. It has all brought me here.
What is the best thing about your job? The opportunity to help others truly lights me up, and working side by side with my colleagues at Carrot makes this possible. My teammates are driven, highly collaborative, and intelligent. They inspire me every day.
Has there been one project or initiative that you’ve been most proud of working on? One of the most impactful projects I’ve worked on was developing and refining DARA policies, such as provider eligibility and expense reimbursement protocol for U.S. members pursuing international adoption. This was a collaborative effort resulting in protocol improvements to ultimately enhance the overall member experience.
What is your favorite perk about working at Carrot? My favorite perk about working at Carrot is the flexibility to work remotely.
How would you describe Carrot’s culture? Carrot’s culture is inclusive, supportive, and mission-driven. It’s exciting to be part of Carrot as it grows and develops to help people on a global scale. I continue to learn so much here, each day brings new challenges and opportunities.
