Employee spotlight

Employee spotlight: Abigail Lim, Global Solutions team

Global fertility care is complex. A journey that’s straightforward to access in one country might be against the law in another. Cultural considerations also play a significant role in access to family-forming services. For companies with global employees, providing equitable fertility support for all employees is a challenge. But thanks to our Global Solutions team, Carrot is available in more than 120 countries, making it possible for employees worldwide to pursue their family-forming goals.

In this month’s Employee Spotlight, we talked with Abigail Lim, a member of our Global Solutions team who collaborates with Carrots focused on every part of the world. Abigail talked with us about her supportive team, what drew her to Carrot, and the smart ways she uses her Carrot productivity stipend. If you’re looking to join our innovative Global Solutions team or another team at Carrot, we’re hiring.

Name: Abigail Lim

Role: Senior Associate, Global Solutions

Team: Global Solutions

Location: San Francisco, CA

What do you do in your role?

I often describe my role in "buckets."

The first bucket is tools and enablement. In this bucket, I manage the tools that Global Solutions uses and help our team to work effectively with other teams at Carrot. I also conduct training and provide documentation on how to use these tools.

The second bucket is process improvement. This could be improving on existing workflows, such as conducting country and clinic audits, and how other teams interact with our global data points in the Global Knowledge Base.

The third bucket is product operations. My team also works closely with Product and Engineering on areas that will affect our global members' experience on the Carrot platform.

What is the best thing about your job?

Collaborating with different stakeholders at Carrot. I love working cross-functionally with teams outside of Global Solutions and internally across the different regional teams and Regulatory Ops that make up Global Solutions.

Why did you join Carrot?

I joined Carrot because of Carrot's mission and dedication to creating access for all individuals to form families. Carrot is one of the companies that are at the intersection of tech and healthcare, which is something that I am personally very interested in.

What is your favorite perk about working at Carrot?

There are so many! I really like the Compt benefits that we get each month. I use it towards my monthly internet bills and then use the remaining balance for groceries and coffee. I also love the WFH stipend which I used to get a portable monitor that I bring with me wherever I go.

How would you describe Carrot’s culture?

Carrot has a very inclusive and welcoming culture. Work-life balance exists! It's not a myth at Carrot.

What do you appreciate the most about working at Carrot?

The people! I am really grateful that I have a team that fully supports and believes in one another. Special shoutout to my manager, Alex Zarka, for providing me with the opportunities to develop professionally and for always advocating for me. I'm also very thankful that I have a mini support system at Carrot: a group of folks I can confide in, celebrate work milestones with, and support whenever one of us is going through a difficult time.
